SUMMER CAMP INFO

Conductive Education camp
for children ages 2 to 21 with cerebral palsy and other types of motor disorders is scheduled for July 6 through July 31, 2009. The camp, which focuses on building self-reliance and functional skills, will be held at The Children’s Institute, Squirrel Hill.  To register or to arrange a time to observe the program, call (412)731-3070.

Start your summer off with some fun!  Discovery Days
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM -  Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, Pittsburgh, PA
The toddler classroom will incorporate early childhood education techniques with various aspects of Deaf education.  Learning centers will be theme based to provide multiple 0pportunities to practice new words. Auditory training activities will be built into activities, giving the children practice in listening skills. American Sign language will be modeled during lessons for those families who choose to utilize it. Speech exercises will be integrated into centers, allowing the children to practice specific sounds with their peers. Individual attention will be paid to a child’s IFSP goals.
