Gay Gay received the persistent parent recognition from the EducationLawCenter,
The Director's award for excellence in parent Support & advocacy
from PDE, and was listed by the post Gazette as making significant
impact on Education. She has sat on many boards and committees at state
and local level in the fields of MR and education. She currently sits
on the PEAL and DRN boards. She has taught first grade and currently
monitors Special Education programs for PDE. She gives freely of her
time supporting students and their parents in the field of education
and supporting agencies from a parent perspective, knowing first hand
the difficulties parents have getting support services in education and
other state systems. Her husband Jack is retired, her daughter is an
environmental educator in Texas, and her son is a clerical worker.
